RED CVs TERMS AND PRIVACY
Please read our Terms and Privacy Statement carefully. By using our website or ordering from us you are deemed to have read and accepted them and are bound by them.
RED CVs Pricing, Payment, Services and Timescales
RED CVs reserves the right to change its prices at any time and without prior consent. All written quotes are valid for 30 days. Once a quote has been accepted and an order placed, the price will be honoured for a maximum of 6 months. If the information necessary to complete the order (i.e. questionnaire, existing CV etc) has not been received within this 6 months, then the quote will be subject to review and the customer will also be liable to pay any additional fees due to any standard tariff increases that have been made within the 6 months. These additional fees will be payable before work on the order may recommence. Once a quote has been accepted and an order placed, the pricing may also be reviewed if it transpires that RED CVs were not provided with all of the career information necessary to produce the initial quote. A reassessment of pricing will also apply in cases where customers move into new jobs after they have placed an order but before they have returned a completed questionnaire. RED CVs reserves the right to cancel orders that have been outstanding for over 6 months – that is to say where an order has been placed but no return information (CV, completed questionnaire etc) received. This cancellation will be subject to a fixed administrative fee of £60.00. Customers are not eligible for price reductions from special offer promotions that begin after an order has been placed. After this time they may be subject to change in line with any changes to our professional hourly rate.
Subject to eligibility, some customers may be offered split payment terms for their order. 50% of the accepted quote total must be paid in advance and the remaining 50% can be paid on completion of the order. This option is possible only for customers paying by debit or credit card. RED CVs will retain the customers debit or credit card details securely on file for the duration of the order and are entitled to debit the remaining 50% balance as agreed on the due date. N.B. the 50% balance payment will become due 7 days after issue of the first draft of a customers documents, regardless if a customer has given final approval on the content. *please see note below regarding draft amendments. If for whatever reason the second and final payment cannot be processed, a customer has 7 days within which to make alternative payment arrangements. If payment has not been received after this time, interest charges will be applied to the outstanding balance and an administrative fee of £60.00 applied. If a customer fails to make payment within 28 days of completion of the order, RED CVs will pursue a claim for all monies due through standard legal processes.
Work will only commence on an order on receipt of a cleared payment (on receipt of a signed quote acceptance in the case of corporate work). We can accept payment by most debit and credit cards. Authorisation and clearance by this method is usually the same day. In the case of cheques sent to us, we will notify a customer when it has been received and we then require five working days for the payment to clear before work can commence. Postal orders are treated as cash payments and are therefore cleared the same day that they are received.
In the event of your cheque not being honoured by your bank, you will be liable for any charges levied against RED CVs by our bankers for the return of your cheque unpaid and your order will be cancelled. Subsequent orders will need to be paid for in full and in advance, by an alternative method.
Telephone calls and faxes to RED CVs are charged at standard local, national or international rates, depending on where you are calling from.
Your documents will be compiled from and based upon the information that you supply us with. We cannot accept responsibility for any false or inaccurate information that you supply. RED CVs will not accept any obscene, offensive or other defamatory material, or that which infringes copyright, trademark rights and intellectual rights likely to damage the reputation of RED CVs.
Our working days include Monday to Friday and exclude weekends, all UK public holidays and all local Aberdeen holidays.
In the unlikely event of RED CVs being unable to meet an agreed service deadline, you may be entitled to a part refund at the discretion of the General Manager. RED CVs will not be held liable for any additional losses incurred as a result of failure to meet an agreed deadline.
Upon production of a first draft, you will have 7 days to return it to us with any amendments to the content that you wish to make. *If you do not contact us within 7 days it will be deemed that you have accepted the content of the draft/s and your order will be completed without further amendments other than those required as a result of a final proofreading. Any changes to documents requested after this time or after you have approved and accepted a final draft – will incur additional charges at our standard hourly rate, plus reprinting, packaging and postal charges where a printed CV presentation pack has been ordered.
If you have ordered a CV presentation pack, delivery to you should, under normal circumstances, be within 3 working days (Monday to Saturday). All orders are sent first class, recorded delivery, unless you specifically request standard delivery (in which case a proof of posting will be retained by RED CVs). In this way we can track delivery of the package. If after 14 days you have not received your order, please check with your local sorting office to confirm that the package is not being held there. If it confirms that it is not there and it cannot be traced, we will consider that package to be “lost in the post” and you should contact us to arrange for a replacement. This will be done free of charge providing your claim is made within 30 days of the original despatch date. Standard reprinting and postal charges will apply thereafter.
RED CVs 100% Money Back Guarantee: If your new CV and covering letter do not generate interviews for you we will refund your fees in full.
Our 100% Money Back Guarantee applies only to new CVs and covering letters written for making applications to company advertised vacancies. It cannot be applied to applications made on a speculative basis or to approaches made for work through employment agencies. It is subject to the following:
Customers must demonstrate that they have followed the advice given in our free guides ‘How to use your new CV’ and ‘How to use your new covering letter/s’ which are e-mailed on completion of a CV and covering letter order.
Owing to a number of factors within the recruitment process being outwith our control, the guarantee is subject to a minimum number of applications being made by the customer: at least 10 applications must be made within 3 months of the order completion date.
Stage 1. If no interviews have been offered after 5 applications, you must notify us and we will first undertake a rewrite of all documents, as this is in the best interest of both parties.
Stage 2. If no interviews have been offered after a subsequent 5 applications have been made we then will then consider a full refund of all service charges.
To enable us to assess the factors that have prevented you from getting interviews and to determine the best course of action that may be taken, we will require the following information both at Stage 1 and at Stage 2 above:
- Confirmation that your current career intentions and aspirations have remained the same since placing your order and that you are still seeking the same job types as defined in your completed questionnaire
- Details of who you submitted your CV to plus all job adverts that you applied to along with copies of the exact CV and covering letter that you sent
- Proof of application failure i.e. rejection letters or e-mails you were sent
- Details of the feedback you sought on your application failure, verbally or otherwise including any and all specific comments that were made on CV and letter layout, format or content
RED CVs strives to produce effective documents that present their customers in the best possible light and have much success in customers achieving interviews and new employment. However, we can in no way guarantee the use of our products to obtain a specific interview or a job, as there are many varied reasons, outwith our control, for not being short listed or selected.
On placing an order, you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions in full.
RED CVs reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order and is not liable to anyone for refusing to accept said order or cancelling it, even once work has begun. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Complaints procedure
RED CVs is committed to providing the best possible customer service and products. If you are unhappy with any part of our service, for any reason, please contact C Denny (General Manager). We will ensure that the problem is resolved to the best of our ability and as quickly as possible.
Cancellation and Refunds
Once an order has been placed, your payment cleared and necessary information / questionnaires received, work will be deemed to have begun immediately. Therefore, by way of a “cooling off” period an order may be cancelled prior to a payment clearing or up to 7 days after payment has been cleared or prior to us receiving the necessary information / questionnaire, which ever is sooner. N.B cancellations received after the 7 day period will be subject to a nominal cancellation fee of £60.00 plus a pro-rata fee for any work already completed. Refunds will always be considered where, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to meet an order deadline.

All content of this website is the copyright of RED CVs. All rights are reserved. RED CVs also reserves the right, at any time and without consent or prior notice, to amend the website or any part of it in any respect. Individuals or other companies found to be using information contained within it or within any publication created and owned by RED CVs will be liable to prosecution.
The website is for personal and non commercial use only. You may not modify, copy, use for any unlawful purposes, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer or sell any information, software, services or products obtained from this website.
Any software that is made available to download from this website is the protected work of the suppliers. Your use of the software is governed by the terms of the end user license agreement, if any, which accompanies, or is included with the software. You may not install, copy or use any software, unless you have first agreed to its license agreement terms.
RED CVs and their suppliers will in no event be liable for any damages in any way arising as a result of using this website, its information, software, products and services therein.
RED CVs reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice or consent. This right shall not affect the existing Terms accepted by a customer at the time of placing an order. RED CVs will however, aim at all times to notify customers of major changes to any element of its working practice through the website and will visibly highlight them as such.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
Your privacy is paramount to us at RED CVs and we are committed to maintaining the highest levels of security at all times. Should you have any comments or queries – please feel free to contact us.

RED CVs will only collect information about you through your enquiries to us, completed questionnaires, consultations and any additional information that you send to us voluntarily. We will only request information that is pertinent to the completion of your order.
The information that you supply us with is only used in 4 ways:
- To successfully process your order
- To provide you with the best and most professional service
- For general statistical purposes i.e. the number of people using our services and from which industries they originate etc (names and personal details are not required for this)
- To contact you from time to time, by e-mail only, with details of special offers and promotions from RED CVs (an opt in service only)
All information that you supply to RED CVs is retained securely and for the duration of the completion of your order. To assist with the eventuality of a customer losing their virtual files, all finished documents are permanently held securely on file, unless a customer specifically requests us not to do so. We confirm that for added security, all our paperwork is shredded. We assure you that your details are not passed on to third parties of any kind, under any circumstances. Your on-line payment details are handled solely by Protx (www.protx.com) using secure servers and encrypted data transfer. Our merchant banking services and business banking accounts are provided by the Bank of Scotland
Verbatim comments: For the purposes of use on the website RED CVs may use written comments that have been supplied by customers in relation to the company’s services. A customer cannot be identified from the details displayed. All that is used are their initials along with their current or aspired to job title. Comments will not be altered in any way, other than to make corrections in spelling and grammar. If you would not like your comments to be used in this way please let us know.
N.B. if ordering the Job Search Plus service you are deemed to have given us permission to forward any part of your CV to agreed third parties such as job search websites and employment agencies. This is only done in accordance with your best interests and we will always inform you as to where your details have been sent.
The RED CVs website contains links to other websites. While they have been chosen for what we believe to be informative content, we are not responsible for their privacy policies. Should you experience problems with a site to which we provide a link, please contact us and we will review our link up status with them.
